Filtering the facts for Kidney Awareness

March is here, and with it comes a dedicated time of awareness for a very important organ: the kidneys!

Healthy kidneys perform many jobs that keep our body functioning. They act as filters for waste and extra water, are creators of red blood cells, regulate our blood pressure, and perform many other essential functions.

When these bean-shaped organs aren’t cared for properly, they can become damaged and develop a condition called chronic kidney disease (CKD), which prevents them from doing their job as well as they should. CKD can lead to other health problems, such as heart disease and stroke, and there are often no symptoms in the beginning stages. Let’s take a moment to March into some important education about our kidney health.

If you or a loved one is living with CKD, we’re here to help.

Gold Kidney Health Plan was created by a group of nephrologists to provide accessible coverage for patients with chronic diseases, including kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Gold Kidney believes in breaking down barriers to care and making patient well-being the number one priority.
