*Gold Kidney Health Plan’s premium includes coverage for both medical services and prescription drug coverage.
If you get Extra Help from Medicare, also known as the Low-Income Subsidy, to help pay for your Medicare prescription drug plan costs, your monthly plan premium, annual deductible, and copayments for prescription drugs will be lower than if you did not get Extra Help from Medicare.
For those who are eligible, this program will cover your Part B Premium of $174.70 in 2024 and $185.00 in 2025. Depending on which program you might qualify for, it could also cover the costs of copays or deductibles, or in some states provide additional benefits.
LIS helps members by providing “extra help” to cover the cost of prescription drugs. Our advocates will screen members to identify those who qualify for LIS through the Social Security Administration and with the member’s authorization, submit the application on the member’s behalf.
More information can be found about the Extra Help program, including what counts toward the income and resource limit, a list of exclusions that may apply, and steps for applying, in the Social Security Administration’s Extra Help resource here.
